Night snorkel

This morning started early with a service project. We sealed and then primed a concrete wall so that it could be ready for painting. Then we ate lunch at Mad Dogs. After Mad Dogs, we went to the Baths. We toured the caves and giant rocks. We ended up in Devil's Bay and snorkeled all the way back...

Chimney day

For the second day in a row, breakfast had bacon. The only thing that would make that better is if they have bacon for breakfast tomorrow. Laura taught us about the fish in this area. It was a pretty good class, and I can remember it because I didn't fall asleep. Then we went snorkeling in a bay. This...

Turtle Tagging and Goodbyes

My expectations for turtle tagging couldn't have been blown out of the water any more, it was all I hoped for and more. We started with a presentation by Joel Dore, a fisheries and wildlife conversation worker on the nearby island of Tortola, who explained to us what we would be doing and their work in general. It dawned...

Turner day 5 blog

Today was a fun and fulfilling day. We started off by waking up at 7:30 and eating breakfast down at Mr. Kirby's cabin. The banana bread and muffins are always so good here. We finished eating and went down to the school wall where we were to do our service project. We were helping an organization called Voices, who...

Yeah I said it, a day in the British Virgin Islands with no swimsuit. I know I know it's disappointing but trust me, it was totally worth it. At this...

Final day in BVI

My final day in the BVI was a great one. It started out by waking up and heading over to olde yard for breakfast and then a presentation over turtle tagging. The presenter did not show up for a while so we started watching some free diving videos. Once the presenter arrived he showed us a sideshow on turtle...

The Baths

A long Sunday both ended and began with awesome activities. Community service at 8 am started quickly as we laid a primer of white on the walls surrounding the local cricket pitch and planted some soon to be large palm trees and desert roses. During service we made some more interesting friends, Kyle and Sasha were locals who couldn't...

The Rhone

This morning was a very early morning. We had a quick breakfast , this time at the marina, then jumped straight on the sea monkey with Jeff a Laura and road 30 minutes to salt island. We parked at the marine Rhone park and briefed. We learned a lot about the 300 foot Royal Mail Ship...
