The green sea turtle is a very diverse turtle that belongs to the cheloniidae family and is the
only species in the genus Chelonia. This unique turtle lingers around the tropical waters of the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. The green sea turtle have a tear-shaped carapace. This exoskeleton on the turtle’s dorsal side gives it protection from multiple predators. The green sea turtle also have a pair of paddle-like flippers to aide them when propelling through the water. As for their diet, these fish primarily feed on a variety of sea grasses mostly around reefs. The green sea turtles travel/migrate tremendous distances from feeding ground to hatching grounds. Here, the females crawl their way up on the beaches, dig holes in the sand at night and leave them there until morning. In the morning these eggs hatch and the hatchlings crawl their way towards the water. The young turtles that reach maturity have a chance of living to an age of 80 years old
