Day four 6/23. Marine Biology 2011- Alec Sims

0

Today we learned about global warming and the composition of the ocean, as well as the waves and currents. We learned that the increase in temperature by a little bit less than a degree can affect seasonal timing for organisms as well as community interactions like mating. This relates to how the temperature can affect the ecological and marine life processes of the ocean by becoming warmer or cooler. We learned about the makeup of water and currents which also affects how the dynamic ecology of the ocean works. Learning about this helps us understand how the organisms in the ocean live.
