Today in class we began by finishing up our dogfish shark lab. All that me and Kells had to do was remove the skin on the head of the shark and look at the brain. The cerebellum was about the size of a cashew. Following the clean-up of this lab we began the daily discussion over the two articles. One of them was about echolocation of porpoises and the techniques they use for hunting their prey. The other article was about the effect of elevated temperature on Elkhorn coral. This article is very useful because at the BVIs we will be studying coral. After these discussions, we were given the task of researching certain marine organisms and preparing to teach the class about them tomorrow. One more day of class until we are in the British Virgin Islands!
