BVI Paradise Day 2

0

This morning we got to wake up 30 minutes later than yesterday. Unfortunately, I felt even more tired than the day before. It was a big time struggle to wake myself up but after breakfast I felt rejuvenated. Following breakfast, Samantha gave a presentation on coral formation, reproduction, and importance. It was a lot easier to participate because we were able to use all the knowledge we acquired from the course back in Big D. After that presentation, Andrew gave a presentation on fish identification. We learned a lot about what each fish performs in the marine environment. This presentation was very helpful because we are going to identifying and counting the number of certain fishes in the wild. After the two presentations we had lunch which was certainly delicious. We took a quick 20 minute break and then we got into the taxi and headed for the harbor. The best scuba team on the planet aka “Sea Dragon,” headed out for Alices backside. We geared up and got in the zone to plummet to our assigned 50 foot depth. Gabe, Brody, Alec and got into the water last (they save the best for last of course). We descended and were on our way. When we were down there we saw coral that covered the floor in every direction. We saw a very large grouper that was a dark yellowish, brown color. Following this discovery, we saw a giant green moray eel. In a very tight crevice Casey spotted a large blue lobster. The dive today was a lot of fun. Brody, Gabe, and I took a lot of underwater pictures of marine life and a few crazy ones of ourselves. After we returned to land we had some down time to play cards and hang out. We ate dinner at Mad Dogs which was a lot of fun because the bartender was very energetic and was a good singer. Today was a very fun day. I can’t wait until tomorrow.
