Today we were surprised with an assignment that asked us why the articles we read were important and how they helped the big picture. After we finished that assignment, my partner Nick Dell and I went on and talked to the group about our article. Our article was about the mimic octopus and an oyster that had an adhesive glue. Doc and the rest of my classmates posed interesting but hard questions like “why did the mimic octopus change its shape to look like a flounder?” My answer to that was because of dna. The mimic octopi’s dna allowed instinct to help it change itself into a flounder, a fish that is toxic to other fish, as a defense mechanism. We then went on to the disection. We started the disection by taking apart a perch and finally a dog fish shark.
