Well as always today was a hard but fun class. It started out just as usual. We went over last nights readings about how some marine life have adapted to living with little oxygen available. We then began our disscussion on currents and tides. We first began by disscussing the chemical side of how the ocean is made up. I learned that only 3.5% of the ocean is made up of salt. We continued on by talking about the coriolis effect and how it acts as a barrier to block currents from going across the equator. We then moved on and talked about how the sin and moon crontol tides. We learned about tidal range and the tidal timeline. We also learned spring tides and that they higher than in other parts of the year because this is when the sun and moon are directly aligned with the earth. “Current”ly I am looking foward to learning about marine life in different parts of the world
