Blog Day 3 (7/17/17)

Today was a rough and difficult yet somewhat rewarding day. It certainly was not one of my favorite days but it was one that had to be done. It started off at 6 AM on a run with Doc Gruninger, who quite honestly killed me in terms of running. I was able to keep up for the first mile until I started panting and had to stop. Fortunately though, I made it up to the destination, CopperMine Point, and it was well worth it. After that I went back home and fell back to sleep. Then shortly after a short little “nap” I went directly back out to eat breakfast and then to get dressed for diving. We were able to finish our project research and we found one really great example of a reef for our project. We improved greatly upon our previous project dives and our efficiency increased greatly. We then got back and ate lunch and then went back home to take a break before beach games. Our cabin, Alamanda, started off strong with 1st place in beach Pictionary,  but then quickly fell behind after we lost the bury your friend challenge. Then we came tied for a close second after the final relay run, personally one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, and possibly harder than the 4.5 mile “run” in the morning. All in all, it was a difficult day but there was a lot of time that was well spent with my Jesuit brothers and new friends. Tomorrow I’m aiming to catch a sea turtle, and who knows, it may even happen.
