Day 4 – Waves of Knowledge

0

Yesterday, we discussed some of the things that go on physically in the ocean. Some of these things, like waves, currents, and the chemical makeup of water all effect how marine life can move, function, and survive in the ocean. Currents help circulate the water and help animals which cannot move (e.g. plankton) travel. I also learned that the salts in sea water are vital nutrients that are key to the survival of fish.

Studying the physical nature of the ocean didn’t make sense to me at first. But upon deeper understanding, every little movement, from the waves to the currents, is as vital to marine life as the air we breathe.
