Day 4 is complete and what a day it was. Today we learned about tides, currents, and waves. These concepts relate to marine biology because many marine life animals are affected by currents and the change in temperature currents bring to them. In addition, tides affect marine life because some marine organisms are more vulnerable during low tides than high tides. Finally, we learned about upwelling and how plankton is brought up from the bottom of the ocean to provide nutrients to the marine life. These topics go hand in hand with marine biology and give us a better understanding of what helps and hurts these marine organisms.
