Day One

0

I’ve looked forward to this class since it was first announced by Mr. Kirby at a prayer service this past school year. Since I signed up, I have gone through a lot of preparation to get ready to learn about Marine Biology and prepare for a trip to the British Virgin Islands. As of yesterday, I am officially a certified scuba diver. The British Virgin Islands will be my first dive experience. From what I hear, the underwater life there is brilliantly colorful and full if excitement. I am excited to learn about the way that underwater life works; everything from defensive strategies of different plants and fish, to the way that underwater creatures have adapted to survive to this marine environment. I don’t know a lot about underwater organisms, but if I had to choose a favorite it would be the Manta Ray. The reason for this is I am fascinated by large underwater creatures and I once went parasailing in Mexico and was fortunate enough to see this awesome creature from above the water! Hopefully, with my recently acquired scuba diving certification, I will be able to experience marine life in a whole new light.
