Today was great. I woke up, got dressed, walked outside, and saw the amazing view from my balcony. Shortly after that, we got in our taxi with our driver, Glen, and drove to breakfast. Our great breakfast consisted of sausage, eggs, and potatoes. Breakfast was followed by presentations about the class and our dives from Casey, a dive instructor and part owner of Dive BVI. What I really enjoyed was the breaks in between the presentations, where we got to swim in the pool outside. After the presentations we ate lunch and went to the marina, where my dive group and I climbed aboard the Sea Monster, my boat for the week. After getting settled and prepping for the dive, we traveled over to Valley Trunk, where we did a safety check and set off scuba diving. During our dive we saw a verity of fish and coral, but the most amazing thing we saw was a honeycomb fish. It was a green and yellow fish covered in hexagons; it had to be one of the coolest animals I have ever seen. Then we resurfaced and headed back to the marina. When we arrived, we quickly found out that the other boat had killed to lion fish. We decided to dissect and study the lion fish, and its stinging barbs, which turned out to be really interesting. Then we went back to our cabins and prepared for dinner. For dinner we ate at Mad Dogs, a place just up the road from here. At Mad Dogs we ate, played games and presented our video. Our presentation went great, and I think everyone enjoyed it. After that we headed back to our cabins to end the night. It was a great first day.
