Last day – David Smith

Today started out by driving down to the marina to do community service with VISAR, the Virgin Island search and rescue. We started out by dividing into two groups. I was told that I should go paint, because I was one of the tallest ones there. I started by painting the wall, then switched to the base board, and then me and Colin switched off sitting on each others shoulders, chicken style, to paint the very top. After that, we took a slight break, and I volunteered for something, which turned out being the person that was strapped into a stretcher, to where I couldn’t move, and then a few guys shook me around, even turning me upside down. Horizontal and vertical. After that, I put up the suits that other group had washed before.

After that, we went to the beach. I was hanging out with Colin, because he has an ear infection and couldn’t get it wet. He ended up falling asleep, and so I went snorkeling with Harrison. We found a long tunnel running under a rock, and when I went underwater, I realized there was an air pocket on the other side. I went through the cave, and it was really cool. We then went to church, where we ended up being the only people there. Then we went to a great dinner, which was set up by Casey, Jeff, Sam, and Andrew. They have been great to us, and I’ll miss everybody here a lot.
