Day Sixteen: The Final Day

0

After participating in our last dive yesterday, today consisted of community service and reflection over the week. We woke up this morning and took our taxi to to the marina to help clean up the VISAR boathouse. VISAR stands for Virgin Islands Search And Rescue. We cleaned out the boathouse, scrubbed the boat, the actual boathouse, and the deck. We also painted the shed and learned different first aid procedures. After this, we went back to the beach by our cottages for lunch. We then went up to our houses, showered and got ready for church. Church, was on top of a cliff overlooking the island. I had the privilege of doing the first reading. After this, we went our banquet and Mine Shaft and had a delicious meal preceded by a slide show put together by the Dive BVI staff. It was a sad night, we had to say goodbye to all of our wonderfully fun times, as well as our awesome staff that helped to make this trip to be a priceless, life changing experience. I want to thank Sam, Andrew, Casey, and Jeff for helping to make this trip amazing. I also want to thank Doc and Mr. Kirby for taking us on this trip and helping us to become marine biologists. But, most of all, I want to thank my parents for allowing me to go on this trip. I appreciate more than you will ever know.

Saying so long,
Connor Beach
