Marine Biology day 11

1

Today started quite well. I found time before 8:30 to read my awesome book. It turns out that the methane mentioned earlier that caused the continental shelf collapse was released into the atmosphere accelerating global climate change. And speaking of the Storegga slide it was a big contributer in the previous big climate change back in the Paleocene leading into the super hot Eocene. And, in the book they recently found out that the Gulf Stream halted which is a proposed consequence of climate change which will cause Europe to descend into an ice age. While it may be science fiction, it’s interesting to see how it relates to reality. Anyways I reluctantly left my book behind as we went to breakfast, but breakfast was very good. We then had our lesson and went to dive. This spot, Alice’s backside, was -for lack of better term- awesome. Truely awesome. It reminded me again why I want to do this for a living; honestly the best dive I’ve done so far. I honestly just wish I could have had a true dive camera for some -hopefully- really good shots. We got out, colin and I goofed around on the boat while we drove back to port, and we got to go to the grocery store where I got some tea and honey. So pumped for morning tea. Anyways then we went to maddogs where casey was kind enough to get me food because I can’t eat pizza…that was really great. Today was really fun and I’m optimistic about tomorrow’s activities.
