Today we started adjusting to the climate of the water by snorkeling off the pier at the resort. My Buddy, Jack Blase and I began looking for fish in the crevices of the rocks. We found sea urchins, banded butterfly fish, juvenile sargeant majors, and even a baracuda. This was our first exposure to the marine life and even in this small area there was a vast aray of species. One of the coolest species we saw was on the rocks just outside of the water because it was trapped; an eel. Today has sparked my excitement for scuba diving tomorrow and I can’t wait to identify more species and see new reefs.
