Grand Caymans Day 4:

0

Today is our fourth day here in the Caymans and fish seem to never stop amazing me. Our first dive today was Big Dipper that started bright and early at 8 am, and the water couldn’t have been anymore blue. The moment that my buddies descend about 60 feet we immediate saw a Pufferfish swim by and that was amazing. As we started to make our way through the reef the abundance of fish was incredible. A group of juvenile Princess Parrotfish greeted my buddies and I as we started our dive. The young Parrotfish have lines going horizontally across their bodies that shows the indication that they are Princess Parrotfish. Two fish that have seemed to appear in every dive our the Black Durgon and the Blue Tang. These two fish ave very distinctive coloring, the Durgon his all black with a a light blue stripe on top while the Blue Tang is a very distinctive dark blue. On our first dive today the Durgon travels in either schools of two or three while the Blue Tang would either be in a large school or chasing each other around the coral. Today in our. Dive we can up on an open “sand field” that seemed to never end. Today our first day was great and the fish seemed to never leave.

Our second dive of the day was in Chain reef. As I descended with my buddies I stared to see the crystal clear ocean floor with coral reefs scattered throughout the floor. On this dive I managed to see Queen, Stoplight, and Blue Parrotfish. I also was granted with te amazement off the Sergeant Major and the Squirrelfish. The Sergeant Major all have identical stripes going down their body. The Squirrelfish have a spiked spine and big black eyes that pop out at you. The coral today seemed to almost overtake the entire ocean because of how big the sea fans were. Today in our night snorkel my buddies and I saw two young-small squid floating on the. Bottom. We also saw a massive Spiny Lobster on the floor towards the end of the dive. Today’s dives were Greta and i cannot wait to see some more magnificent creatures.
