Today, we began class finishing up our shark dissections. Hector and I studied the shark’s brain. We then went back to the classroom to discuss a couple of articles that we read last night. The first presentation was about echolocating porpoises. We learned how these porpoises use supersonic screeches to find their away around using the method of sonar. I then give my presentation about how temperature effects the larvae of the elk horn coral. An experiment was conducted in a controlled environment to see how the larvae would react to certain temperatures. The larvae in the 27.5 degree Celsius had the highest percentage of survival. This article was surprisingly very interesting! We’re almost ready to head out to the BVI, and I can’t wait!
