Day Three

Today was slightly different from yesterday, there was more water involved. Like most days I received an amazing breakfast after waking. Though this time I left the house early and immediately headed to the scuba diving location. Once arriving I was put into a group with my friends and then my group and I were fitted. When we were finally ready we went on our first dive. My first specific topic is during the first dive I was approached by a white tip reef shark which is a species of requiem shark. The shark minded its own business and avoided me as i followed it, this was my favourite part of today. After the shark my group and I went into some underwater lava tubes which were much different than the one we visited yesterday. We then circled back to the boat and swam around the boat for a bit. We ate some wrap then prepared for our second dive. The second dive consisted of multiple toad fish, some underwater arches, and an open body of water. My second specific topic will be about the open body of water and I heard it was around 60 feet deep and apparently stingrays swim at the bottom. I got to touch the bottom, un-excitingly it felt like shallow water sand. After the dives we visited the monk seal and got to see it get a tube shoved down its throat. We did some volunteering before heading to our black water dive orientation (here’s a link to a Joshua Lambus’ website https://www.jlambus.com/PORTFOLIO/Blackwater/i-v4L5Zcn). My third specific topic will be over the black water and how we will be going a couple of miles into the ocean to then drift with divers, who may get a heart attack from a box jelly, below us. Fun fact vomit attracts sharks. After the orientation we headed to the house and ate dinner.
