Today was my second day exploring the Big Island of Hawaii. My group, the Siphonophores, were exploring the depths of Pololu Valley. At the begging of the hike, I was walking right next to my buddy Braxton, and of course I slipped and almost fell of the cliff entirely! Luckily I got the edge and Braxton actually pulled me up. After reaching the bottom of the valley, we were surrounded by views of mountains and clouds, also on a black beach. The forrest, filled with rope swings, had many wild bulls and fruit that was available to see and pick. We also saw a tent made out of of twigs and sticks that appeared to have someone staying inside. To close off the trip, we hiked up 30 minutes faster then the normal time it took and met up with a homegrown pineapple and smoothie vendor just off mountains top. We were able to buy and taste freshly grown fruit off the tree! Completely different from the normal store bought ingredients. On day three, we are doing our first dive of the trip and it’s a two tank one for plenty of new dive time!
