Day 7 in the Grand Caymans (7/19/19)
Today we woke up bright and early for our last two dives in the Grand Caymans: Sand Hole and Ocean Pointe. Both dive sites were beautiful, and I was glad to finish out my trip with two strong dives.
Sand Hole Reef was a really cool site. Our dive master, Curtis, lead the dive for this one. That was the...
Day 6 in the Grand Caymans (7/18/19)
Today we woke up early and had a nutritious breakfast before heading out to two different shipwrecks: Kittiwake Wreck and the Doc Paulson. Both sites were really cool, and it was very interesting to see the levels of algae and coral growth on them.
The USS Kittiwake was first commissioned in 1946, and it was used as a Chanticleer-class submarine...
Day 5 in the Grand Caymans (7/17/9)
We woke up bright and early and ate a great breakfast before heading out on the dependable Twin Sister to our two dive sites: Hepp's Pipeline and Spanish Bay. They were roughly half an hour out, and we all got comfortable for the eventful morning ahead of us.
Hepp's Pipeline got its name not because of a giant pipe down...
Day 4 in the Grand Caymans (7/16/19)
We woke up early and ate a nutritious breakfast before our two dive sites this morning: Big Dipper and Chain Reef. Both of the sites were really cool, and I saw a ton of fish at both.
The Big Dipper dive site is now the deepest I've dove, a max of 103ft, and it was a more tightly packed set...
Day 3 in the Grand Caymans (7/15/19)
We woke up bright and early to eat a nutritious breakfast before going off to our two dive sites of the day: Big Tunnels and Bonnie's Arch. Behind the Manta Ray dive we went on last year in Hawaii, Big Tunnels has been my favorite dive set yet. It was truly an experience to remember.
Big Tunnels was truly a...
Day 2 in the Grand Caymans (7/14/19)
This morning, we woke up bright and early at 5:50 and had a great breakfast! Around 7:45 or so, we boarded our dive boat, the Twin Sister, and headed out to our first dive site: School House.
I saw many interesting fish down there, especially a mahogany snapper. At first glance, the snapper looked like a lionfish, an invasive species,...
Day 1 in the Grand Caymans (7/13/19)
Today was our first day in the Grand Caymans. After a fun time at the airport and in the air, we arrived to our destination: Cobalt Coast Resort.
Once we got settled into our rooms, we had the opportunity to go snorkeling off the coast of the resort. While I was snorkeling, I was able to identify various fish we...
Day 6 in Hawaii
{Blog for Saturday, July 28th, so it will be in the present tense}
We had some time to sleep in this morning. After we all woke up, changed, and ate breakfast, we headed to a beautiful beach to clean it up. We started off picking up trash. I really liked cleaning up the beach, and as a plus, I saw...
Day 5 in Hawaii
Today we were allowed to sleep in later due to the late night last night. We had a very good breakfast which consisted of an egg casserole. Our first stop along the trip was at NELHA for a more in depth tour, then we went to a fish farm. Two, actually. The first one was the main fish farm...
