Marine Biology Day 5
Today was another great day in marine biology. Today we went over the biological zonation of the ocean, and we went over various classes of plankton. Wegoing over biological zonation, I learned that the ocean ground, the Benthic zone, is in a whole zone of its own. That means that the ocean floor, the gound of the tidelines, and...
Marine Biology Day 4
Today was a jolly good time!!!!. We went over currents, tides, wave, tsunamis, rogue waves, salinity, and polarity. We learned things like how tsunamis and rogue waves form, whats actually in the ocean water, and how and where ocean currents moved. We looked at how all of the stuff we learned is related to marine biology. We looked at...
Marine Biology- Day 3
Today was a very interesting day. We went overe the origin of life and plate techtonics and how these two subjects are related to marine biology. The origin of life was an interesting topic to observe today. We had a nice class discussion about it. We went over stuff like where life might have come from, how life formed,...
Second day of class
Today in class, we started by reading and reviewing two articles. One of the articles was about how climate change affects fish migration paterns in the North Sea. We also looked at several different and interesting fields in which a Marine biologist might work. My partner scientist Connor Beach looked specifically at research scientists. These scientists work in...
First Day of Class
I want to learn more about how marine organisms affect the environment and how human interaction affects the marine organisms and environment. My favorite marine organism would have to be either the sea snake o a humpback whale. I have never been diving before but have almost completed my PADI certification.
