Day 4

For marine biologist a myriad of factors affect their research. One simple one is the difference between high and lowtide. At hightide completly different species of animals may occupy the same environment as different animals which occupy the same environment at low tide. Currents also affect the research of marine biologist because as we learned fish have sensitive responses to the temperature of water and currents play a major role in determining where the warmer and cooler waters are. This affects the study of marine biologist because as stated above some marine life is very sensitive to temperature and that would affect where the marine biologist study. Similarly changes in pressure zones like El Nino can warm waters and wipe out entire species of organism. These abnormal temperatures are caused because usually water in the Pacific travels to Australia’s or father and in the process cools down then because of convention currents travels back to west coast of America where the cool water rises and warms; however, El Nino shifts the low pressure zone near Asia towards the middle of the Pacific Ocean giving the water less time to cool before is returns to the west coast and thus increases the temperature and effects the species which that live there.
