Blog Day 4

Today started off with an 8:00 AM breakfast and then a 40 minute presentation on turtles and conservation efforts in the British Virgin Islands. We learned about how to catch and tag turtles as well. We the took a taxi with Glen to the boat and set off to a bay that was known for sea grass. We searched the sea grass for turtles and found several, but we did not have luck catching them. Afterwards, we moved to a different spot where we were tugged behind a boat while snorkeling with waterski handles. We didn’t see anything on the tug. We headed back to the harbour for lunch and ate. Afterwards, Glen drove us to a beach where we snorkeled and searched for invertebrates. I found a few jellyfish and a lobster. We studied the creatures and found their genus and species names and learned of something called a fireworm. We the came back to watch a movie and go to bed.
