Marine Biology | Week 2 | Day 2

Having Will bought a dozen eggs the day before and with us hosting breakfast, I expected to wake up to a four course breakfast. Unfortunately Will bought the eggs for himself so the rest of the cabin woke up in disappointment. The dive's this day were amazing! We started with our first at Ginger's Backside where we went to focus on cleaning stations as part of our project. My dive buddy was Luke as the rest of our cabin went to research other cleaning stations. Very quickly we got two cleaning stations with blue head wrasse. We didn't see many fish being cleaned just a lot of cleaning fish. They were very cool when one fish was cleaned though. It was very awesome to watch and how the fish posed themselves to signal they were ready to be cleaned. After that we went to the Cooper Island dive spot where we didn't see much. I used this as an opportunity to work on my neutral boyante and saving my air with breathing techniques. We swam around a little and saw massive barracuda and tarpon. I was exhausted but we returned to the marina ready for more activities.

The baths, founded by the Rockefeller family to preserve the island, is a national park that consists of massive volcanic rocks that leaves large bubbles exposed in the rock. We went and climbed around the baths and later had a crazy cool snorkel back to the cabins. We saw a bunch of coral and I may have taken the snorkel a bit too fast. Overall it was a nice day and I wouldn't mind one just like it tomorrow.
