Marine Biology Day 6

0

To begin this weeks class we had different groups present different articles regarding marine life. The first article was about butterfly fish and their mass consumption of coral. The second article was about the massive decline of mollusks. Both of these readings really put into perspective the impacts that one small thing can have on the entire marine ecosystem. Today’s class was special because we got to dissect a sea star and a squid. I had dissected a sea star when I was in middle school but I was in need of a refresher course. I was really amazed by the different make up and how each of these species were structured. The squid especially was very interesting on the inside. I can’t wait to see these two creatures in their natural habitat when I am in BVI. Can’t wait for tomorrow.
