Today we went over a very interesting reading regarding the concept of hypoxia and anoxia. The article talked about two species, the crucian carp and the epaulette reef shark. Hypoxia is a lack of oxygen. These two species of fishes have adapted to live in conditions with very little oxygen. I found this article very interesting. The bulk of the class was spent learning about the oceans composition and movement. We learned about the different causes of tides and currents from the very surface to the deepest depths of the ocean. Another huge topic we talked about was global warming. I learned that the Earth is unable to get rid of as much energy or heat as it takes in. I always find the topic of global warming very interesting because there are so many different factors that can be discussed. Today was another good day of class.
