Today we started off with a great breakfast of omelets, we then proceeded to our first dive at Paul’s Grotto and the special fish we saw were a HUGE lobster hiding underneath a rock, and sea urchins. After a surface interval and a snack we went on our second dive at West Seal Dog Island. This was my favorite dive so far! It was really awesome; we saw reef sharks, squids, sea urchins, moon jelly, and sergeant majors. Toward the end of the dive Joey somehow got low on air and had to buddy breathe with Jessica for the rest of the dive. After lunch we went to the baths and Sarah gave us a tour. Some of the cool things we saw are as follows: huge granite rocks, pirate skull rocks, a cavern, termites(yes we ate them), and mangos. After this we snorkels back to the beach and saw a lot of different fish.
Today started off with a dive at the RMS Rhoen a ship that sunk around 1867 in a hurricane. This was the coolest dive we have been on so far, we went down to about 80 feet and explored the bow portion of the ship, then we did a swim through the ship. The second dive of the day we explored the stern section of the ship. Among many other fish we got to rub the window of the only passenger that survived for good luck. Ryan showed me how to swim upside down and after that I did almost the whole entire dive upside down and it was awesome. The Rhoen is defiantly the coolest so far. Lunch was fish and chips on cooper island followed by an awesome snorkel where we saw some turtles and an octopus. We came home and had some down time before burgers on the beach and a night snorkel. The night snorkel was full of creatures I hadn’t seen before. There were bioluminescent plankton that were kinda like fireflies; also there were these worms that came to our lights and kept bitting us in huge swarms. Jessica explained to us later that they were actually eating bacteria and things off of us.
