Today, June 22, would mark the third day of the Marine Biology program. We discussed the articles regarding evolution and the origin of species in order to get a better understand as to why we study biology. The commonly held belief that life on Earth began in the oceans compels me to study underwater life. And to study underwater life would natural include studying the origins of life on planet Earth as a whole.
We also addressed the movements of the Earth’s plate techtonics and how they geographically influence the environments above and below the ocean (whether they be volcanic erruptions, formation of mountains, or subductions such as trenches). The Earth’s crust is constantly shifting; constantly changing. And It will continue to do so just as it has always been.
