Marine Biology- 3rd Day

0

Today was an interesting day. We learned about the origins of life and plate tectonics. Basically, we went through the history of our planet very quickly and how life played a role. The origin of life and plate tectonics are important to marine biology for many reasons. Many believe that life originated in the oceans, so studying underwater life includes studying the origin of life. Without life beginning there would be no reason to study marine biology because there wouldn’t be marine biology and there wouldn’t life. Plate tectonics are important too because the collision of plates directly affects the marine ecosystem. Whether the effect is a volcano erupting underwater, or the subduction of plates resulting in less habitat for under water life. Plate tectonics is very important to the study of under water life.
