Day3
Our day began with an uproarious buzzing of an alarm clock. We exited the loft at around 7:20 to be at the Commissary at 8 for a breakfast of Loops of the fruity persuasion. Then Casey debriefed us for the day and introduced us to Mem and the innkeepers. Glenn then took us to the Baths and we snorkeled. Sarah took us on a cool tour, then Caitlin jumped in to show us marine life. I learned what a diverse place the ocean is. I saw all kinds of fish, from stingrays to fan worms. After that, we ate Sandwiches and powerade on the shore. Then Henry, Chris, Jackson, Sam and Alex joined me on a self-organized snorkel to a large rock off of the shore. On the way there, we saw a forest of pernicious fire coral, which Henry almost accidentally kissed because he forgot what fire coral looked like. We saw a very large grouper meandering around the cave, then turned back to play frisbee near the beach. That was followed by a quick boat ride to ginger island, courtesy of our expert boat driver Jeff. Mem took me, Alex, Jackson and Chris to a very blue tan rich reef. We identified fish and avoided fire coral and Mosquitos from the air. The water spirits were kind to us, causing awe-inspiring species to appear. After 51 minutes, we emerged from the cotton-candy blue water to go back to guavaberry to shower. Then we ate a delicious meal of tuna wraps, and when Laura asked me if I wanted more I said, “That’s quite all right,” since she’s British and she laughed. Tom and Jack didn’t think I’d say it. We all played frisbee. Then we came to the Commissary to write this blog. Here’s a trumpetfish
