I woke up at 4:00 A.M. yesterday exited for my trip. Those feelings of excitement were eventually put to rest after three plane rides and a boat ride with my bros to reach my final destination of Virgin Gorda late at night, and the only feelings I had left were exhaustion and a sharp pain in my butt. This morning I woke up refreshed and ready to start this trip. We started the day with a nice breakfast, then straight to learning about the fish and coral we would eventually see later that day. After this class time we had a break for lunch. After quickly eating, we spent the rest of our lunch break swimming in the nearby pool because none of us could wait any longer to be in the water diving. Finally after all the waiting we got to the point we had all been waiting for. We all got geared up and got back on the dive boat. We went to a dive site called The Chimney next to The Great Dog Island, made famous Jacque Cousteau. Going down at first I was amazed to see a plethora of life, which was a great change from that dirty lake full of diseases that I had to dive in to get my license. I saw such a variety of colors ranging from blues, greens, purples, pinks, oranges, and yellows. I would have stayed in one place and just stared if it wasn’t for my dive master guiding our group pointing out and naming all of the life underwater. After our dive we had an all you can eat dinner of pizza at Mad Dog’s, where Gabe, Joe, Sam, Garret (A.KA. Brother Love), and I became fixated on a game involving a metal ring dangling from a string, and a hook mounted a few feet away. All in all it has been a great few days with my Jesuit brothers.
