Clayton woke us up again at 7, and 45 minutes later we were walking to the resort office for breakfast. The office was one of the few places air conditioned, so it was quite an enjoyable breakfast. Afterwards, MB1 walked over to the Baths. Instead of entering the Baths, we took a side route to the Devils Bay. It was about a 15 minute hike, and we saw a famous bay under the giant rocks that was apparently used in 3 or 4 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit magazine issues. Once we hit Devil’s Bay, we snorkeled all the way back to Spring Bay, near the resort. We saw lots of fish, including a barracuda that darted away quickly. Afterwards, we ate sandwiches on the beach and Caitlin drilled us on how to identify fish. Once we were done with that, we headed to the docks to get ready for a dive. On the boat, we set up our BCDs and talked about the island we were heading to, West Dog island. Once we got there, it started to pour rain for about 10 minutes so we waited. After it was over, we split into groups and dove for 42 minutes in the Wall to Wall area. The group I was in included Jeff, Nick Byrne, Austin Wallace, and the intern Fernando. We saw lots of fish like parrotfish, sergeant majors, grunts, trumpetfish, lion-fish, blue tangs, and more. Fernando and Jeff brought a harpoon gun to kill a lion-fish, and they eventually did, after about 5 or 6 misses. Afterwards, we rose back up to the surface and headed back to the docks. We waited for MB2 there and then headed back to the resort with them to shower before dinner. We ate dinner at Mad Dogs and then we gathered around for a presentation by Casey that explained the coral restoration program and what was new this year. We then headed to the office to write our blogs (as it has wifi) and watch family feud. Good show.
