I woke up today and went down for early breakfast at 7:45. Afterwards, we walked down to a wall at a recreational facility down the street. We were putting primer on the wall so next week the group can paint pictures of the Caribbean. It was really tough and by the end I was covered head to toe in paint. However, it was nice being able to help out the kind people that I’ve interacted with here on Virgin Gorda. During my breaks I watched the cricket game going on in the rec area. I can say I had absolutely no idea what was going on in this game, but it was a nice change from painting. When Julian finished the last brushstroke, we went back up to the cabins. I was the first shower, and it was absolutely glorious. After we showered, we went back up to Maddogs to eat. After lunch, we went back to the cabins with three hours of down time. We just hung out until it was time to go the baths. The baths were awesome. We walked through them, looking at the wild rock formations in awe. Afterwards, we went on a snorkel from Devil’s Bay where the baths end to Guavaberry Beach. On our way we saw another turtle. One person decided to touch it and it freaked out. From there we hung out in the ocean for about an hour while Jeff cooked burgers and brauts. Once they were done, we ate on the beach. After eating, we went on my first ever night snorkel. Right as we started, we saw a giant sting ray. As we shined all our lights at it, it wanted to get away, and it began by swimming right at Jimmy, Clayton, and I. It was pretty freaky at first but once we got out of its way it kept on going as if we were never there. On the rest of the dive, we saw a squid attack a fish and eat it, another sting ray, and a baby octopus. Of all of this the octopus was the best because we hadn’t seen one yet. This night snorkel was one of the coolest parts of the trip so far. Hopefully our last day tomorrow is as good as some of the ones we’ve had so far.
