C. I learned from this article that consequences of ecotourism outweigh the benefits of it. I also learned that ecotourism agencies deceive the native people into thinking that they are protecting the environment, when they are really exploiting the natives for the their own monetary gain.
D. From this article I learned that marine invasive species pose a significant threat to local species. I also learned that lionfish with are an invasive species to the Caribbean waters have increased in population drastically over the past 5-7 years.
E. This was the article that I presented and I was surprised to learn that artificial reefs attracted more species of fish and individual fish then natural reefs. I also learned that even though the article did not talk about disadvantages of artificial reefs there could be many ethical and environmental factors surrounding their use.
F. This article talked about how different species of birds were being used as indicators to identify oil spills in Newfoundland because they wash up on the shore. I also learned that oil spills happen every day but only large oil spills are publicized in the media.
