Rock Beauty

The Rock Beauty Angelfish, or Holacanthuss tricolor, is a marine fish commonly found in the Gulf of Mexico. As a whole, the majority of the fish is yellow with a large black spot on its body. They feed mostly on sponges as well as some tunicates and algae. The Rock Beauty always starts out as female but has the option to turn male when it matures, a.k.a a synchrononous protogynous hermaphrodite. It typically lives near large amounts of coral and are almost always found at many coral reefs in the Caribbean. I imagine we will see plenty of them in the BVI.
