Today was very relaxing because although we had no dives, we still had fun at Savannah Bay and also The Baths. We started the day waking up and heading down to wait for the taxi. Once it arrived, we left for our usual meeting spot where we found a breakfast of eggs and muffins. We then began our lesson over coral reefs including information on what they are, how to conserve them, and also reef identification, which we will use on our dive Friday. After we finished our discussion, we left for Savannah Bay where we praticed laying down transect lines to collect data for Friday. This includes counting the number of occurrences you see of a certain topic like fish or invertebrates while with your partner on separate sides of the transect line. Although a little confusing at first, I got a good understanding of it after some practice. We then ate a lunch of sandwiches and chips. When done, we all went out into the water for some snorkeling. This was really cool because it was interesting seeing some of the same fish from previous dives, but this time not even having a tank. I was able to get some good pictures too which was nice. When the taxi returned, we all went back to the resort, but soon when back out now to The Baths. This place involved many rocks and small spaces, which at times were a little hard to maneuver. But, once we reached the water, I realized that all the travel was worth it. We all went swimming around the rocks and enjoyed the free time. Then, the travel back began which wasn’t as difficult as the first time. A little tired, we walked back to the resort and got ready for dinner. Dinner was at Bath and Turtle, a local place near the marina. We had a buffet consisting of various things like salad, macaroni and cheese, and ribs. All the food was very good, and when we were done, we walked around outside and stopped at a DJ. We listened to music for a little while, and then we went back to the resort for the night. Today was very nice for a change, and I am looking forward to a packed day tomorrow including two dives and snorkeling!
