Today was our third day in Hawaii, and our first time scuba diving! We began our day very early in the morning, and left our cabins at around 7:15. We did a 2 tank dive, and the water was very pleasant, meaning that it wasn’t cold at the bottom. Our first dive we went to Suck Em Up, and it was very cool, the best part was when we saw a white tip reef shark. We were down in the water about 40 minutes, and then we had to come back up because we were running out of air. During the dive we got to see some really cool reefs, and then went inside a small cave in the shape of a skull in which we took several pictures.
Our second dive was in Kaloko, which was very cool since I got to see a porcupine fish. The second dive was better than our first one because we got to go through lava-made hills and caves. These places looked nice, and we even got to dive near the sand at the bottom. Both the dives were awesome, and after each dive we swam near the boat in which we all did flips and dives.
After the dives we were all exhausted, and when we went to the Ke Kai Ola, the monk seal rehabilitation center, in which we learned more about monk seals and we made observations through the monitoring camera on the monk seal they had there. It was very cool but we were very tired so we didn’t work that hard.
After that we went to NELHA were Joshua Lambus, a professional photographer, did a presentation on black water dives, which looked awesome, and made me exited to want to do one. After the presentation we went back home, ate dinner, and I had a surprise birthday cake which we all ate and had lots of fun.
