Today is my first day on the island of Kona and I am extremely excited for the days to come. Tomorrow my group, the Pyrosome group, will be heading to the summit of Mauna Kea. While I am very excited to hike up a mountain for the first time, I am definitely not ready for the 30 degree weather at the top of the mountain. The manta and black water dives on Thursday and Friday are the two events I am most excited for but, I will have many other fun activities to participate in while I wait.
I am most excited for the night dives because I have never dove at night. I have heard and seen pictures of how beautiful the sea creatures are at night so I can’t wait to get some pictures of my own to share. I hope to sea many new sea creatures and to experience a new side of diving as I dive into the dark depths.
