BVI Day 1

0

This morning was rather rough because of the late night we had after a long day of travel. We woke up at 7:30 and met down by the street at 8 o’clock sharp. Tina the office manager gave us a quick briefing on the lay of the land. After we finished with that we took a taxi to another hotel where we formally met Casey and Jeff. Casey put together a very enjoyable presentation of what we are going to be doing for the week. She also talked about dive and boat safety, because safety is the number 1 priority! We enjoyed and a good breakfast, some swimming, lunch, and good times. We took another taxi ride to the harbor to get ready to scuba for the first time this trip! After a short briefing on the equipment, we got all of our gear together and jumped into the water. The water was so refreshing and clear. My dive group was Gabriel “the mango” Arango, Brody “Cluzey Man” McClure, and Alec “Stealth Ray” Sims. The dive was very interesting and fun. We saw a good amount of marine wildlife and a lot of small fish. Our group saw two sting rays, sea urchin, sponges, shrimps, and an octopus. Our dive lasted 47 minutes and was at 10-15 feet deep. Today was a very good first day! We are having a cook out on the beach tonight which should be fun. I can’t wait for tomorrow.
