On our last real day on the island we got to sleep in which was tremendously appreciated. Then for breakfast, Casey bought us all donuts which just added to all of the wonderful things she had done for us over the week. Then, it was off to the beach to do our service project. We spent the time picking up trash that had accumulated on the beach near the water filtration station. It was amazing to see how much trash has built up over the years. It really made me think how bad it was to litter. It made me feel good to know I was leaving the BVI with positively impacting it. I knew that every little piece of trash I picked up would help the people who live there. It really made me think to be mindful of when I am throwing trash away. After helping out on the beach, we got some free time which I spent just lounging in the beach just relaxing. Then, we went off to the farewell dinner. It was hard to say goodbye to the good people at Dive BVI, but Casey made a wonderful video to capture our week. It was a nice dinner but I know I will be able to see the people of Dive BVI again because all of them positively impacted my life. It was one of the best experiences of my life and it wouldn’t of been the same without them. I hope to come back and am sad that it is over.
