Today was a pretty good day. I finished the Running Man (much better than the movie) on the plane and I arrived in paradise. We arrived in the Virgin Islands around 6:30 ish. From there we got on Dive BVI’s boat and went to the island Virgin Gorda. The cabin that Xander, Jack, Brock, and I got today was reminiscent of Pine Cove. The island is a beautiful one too. The stars shine brightly in the clear sky, you can hear the waves crash on the beach and smell the ocean, and you can hear the crickets (and locusts) through the screen doors. After we went to our cabins, we ate dinner. Much to my pleasant surprise, the first meal we had was pizza! We also met some of our dive staff, Casey and Jeff the Co-Owners of dive BVI. We also received our boat assignments and I once again got on a boat with Xander and Jack. After dinner, we went back to our rooms and Doc showed us how to write the blog I am currently writing. I want to give a big thanks to the Dive BVI team in advance. Both Casey and Jeff were really going out of their way for us to night, and also they helped create this program!
This week seems like it’s going to be a blast, and I mean what could be better? I’m surrounded by paradise, diving in a pristine colorful reef, helping out the locals, helping the environment, and learning about marine life in the process! I don’t even know what I most look forward to. Is all of it an answer?
Tomorrow we head out early (but just a tad bit later than we will do) and we begin our dives. Our first dive will consist of a short review of skills, and our second will be fish identification. Tomorrow seems like a great day, and I’m sure it will be one of many.
