Today was the last day in the water. However, I have plenty to tell since we spent most of the day in it.
This morning it was our cabin’s turn to serve breakfast, so I woke up around 7:00 to set things up. Luckily, the breakfast went over pretty smoothly.

At 8:30 we headed out to the docks for a long day on the water. After we loaded all of our stuff onto the dive boat, we headed to our first dive site. However, instead of heading to an island, we headed to a sunken ship! The history of the boat, now named the Kodiak Queen, was one of the few surviving boats of Pearl Harbor. Years later, the dive association down in the BVI decided to purchase it from a shipyard as it would be a neat attraction. To make it even cooler, an artist constructed a massive octopus sculpture that hangs on one side of the boat.

The second dive site was off of the island we visited with the invertebrates yesterday. This time around however we were tasked with cleaning coral nurseries. Unfortunately, I was not able to go down deep enough to participate in the activity. I did have a good time though watching from above and exploring the rest of the area from yesterday.
After the second dive we headed to a secluded island on the water where we joined up with the other dive boat to have lunch. Everyone ate pretty quickly so we could jump off the second floor of the dive boat.
After 30 minutes everyone headed on a snorkel to explore the mangroves that lined the surrounding island. Some neat facts about the mangroves is that they support the bottom of the island from collapsing during tropical storms and serve as homes for baby marine life before venturing out into ocean. Anyway back to the day. We snorkeled along the mangroves for a while the coolest finding being a massive conch shell with a conch still inside. However, we had to cut the snorkel early after we ran into a large patch of upside down jellyfish who’s stung supposedly hurt like crazy, just ask one of my snorkel mates.

After the snorkel we headed back to docks where we caught a taxi back to the cabins. We the. Chilled for a little under 2 hours until a lasagna dinner at 6:00. Afterwards, I literally just chilled working on this blog and our project until lights out.

Before I go to bed I have to dry all of my close so I’ll see y’all tomorrow.
