BVI DAY 2

1

We were able to sleep a little later today. The Plums served us a delightful breakfast. The purpose of our dives today was to do research for our projects. We visited a dive site near Ginger Island, known as Ginger’s backside. My group measured and recorded the filtration habits of different barrel sponges. It was surprisingly difficult to measure the diameter of every individual sponge. We also saw so many different schools of fish. We saw giant groups of wrasse, tarpon, and even a few squid. We also saw angelfish. After the dives, we had a tasty lunch at the Bath and Turtle. After lunch we had went on a mini hike. We visited a national park/beach known as the Bath. We explored an interesting system of rocks that formed a cave-like path to a few different beaches. While walking to the beach, I tumbled down a flight of stairs and slided down a large rock. But I’m ok now. After we spent time frolicking on the beach, we used our snorkels to swim back to the resort. While swimming back, we saw sea urchins and a few baby squid. Back on land, we ate spaghetti for dinner and then played ultimate frisbee at the beach. Overall, today was busy, but fun.
