Day 5:
Today I woke up and had the usual corn pops with juice, this mornings flavor was Secrets of the Valley. We then hastily made way to the Sea Monkey. We suited up and went for the first project dive of the day. We went to West Dog Island to lay down our tapes and begin recording. Our first test wasn’t the best due to the fact that we couldn’t find a simple reef at all. But, we saw many cool fish like the Trumpetfish and Juvenile Spotted Drum Fish, which are very rare. We then surfaced and drove to the coral nursery that Dive BVI owns. We jumped in and did a second sample for our project, it was the best one yet. We then had enough air to proceed and help clean the coral on the PVC units. We then had a nice lunch on the boats before we snorkeled to the shore to observe the salt pond. It was dry but we learned that it once was teaming with life and is a nursery for many juvenile creatures. We also saw termites and ate them, well not me, it was Matt. We then snorkeled back to the boats and went back to the hotel so that we could prepare for our projects. At 5pm we presented and it went smoothly. We then ate dinner, watched some humiliation and wrote this blog.
