Our Final Day on Virgin Gorda

All in all, today was a pretty nice day. We didn’t have breakfast until 9 this morning, so we all got to sleep in a decent amount. I think I woke up at around 8:30, and it was fantastic to get that extra sleep. Once we were awake, though, we went down to the teachers’ cabin and ate breakfast. Breakfast consisted of donuts, juice and apples and it was really nice to have. After we ate, a few of us went into one of the cabins and played cards until we needed to leave for service. That was really fun and time consuming, as we had to leave before we could finish our games. We left the resort at 9:40 and went to a beach by the airfield on the island. It was literally covered in trash ranging from beer bottles to nets and buoys. We started cleaning and once we had a certain amount of bags, Jimmy and I helped Casey take all of the trash to the dumpsters. We made a few runs and by the time we were going back for a fourth time, most of the trash was picked up. So after we had cleaned up the beach, we went to lunch at the bar in the marina. Lunch was really good, and after we ate we roamed around the marina looking in the few shops there. We did this until we had to go back to Guavaberry. When we got back, we started our afternoon of free time. I spent it relaxing and indoors with air conditioning. We also have our farewell dinner tonight, which I know will be fantastic. Tomorrow we head back home, and it is going to be harder to leave this year than it was last year.
