BVI July 20th Gag me with a spoon, I’ll never see a Lionfish

The hype was real today, the hype was oh so real. This of all days was the day I got to be like a marine biologist as I transplanted coral fragments. The first step was to locate some, this proved more than challenging as my group didn’t even see a stag horn, the coral we were supposed to transplant. We learned after the dive that the area we were sent to go search was the wrong area and the coral could be found not but 100 yards over. The next step was transportation, fairly simple, hop in a boat and take the frags with you. After arriving at our destination which was the jesuit reef we had quite a swim to the exact location where the corals would be planted. After the said 10-15 minute swim, Luke and I glued our respective frags into place and all in all everything went pretty smoothly. Then we swam back while the marine 2 kiddos took measurements of the coral. During this time marine 1 had nothing to do so Doc “convinced” us to go have some. Since my leg are absolutely fried I decided to scuba dive instead of snorkel with my remaining air tank and Mr. Golab or the more recently named Warsaw Wrecking-ball joined me. Upon this final scuba trip as I can’t dive tomorrow what with the plane ride and all I was happy to see my first triggerfish this trip. I must have been down on my luck because yet again my attempts to find a lion fish or seahorse were thwarted. The other group however did see a lion fish, like gag me with a spoon. This last dive, however awesome, did indeed cause cause my sunburn to worsen and it will now take more than just a day and plenty of aloe to heal up. The day ended with a relaxing pizza dinner on the beach, it was also quite enjoyable as the seniors let me sit and chat with them. So all in all it was quite a lovely day here in the BVI.
