Day 5

0

Well, today was the final day of diving for us and we just finished transplanting coral today. However, the process was troubling and tiresome but we were able to get most of it done. So, once again, we all got up and made our way towards the marina where we got on our boat and made our way towards a reef in order to collect coral fragments while the marine biology 2 students prepped the site for us to do the transplant. It proved to be very difficult to find the coral as there were hundreds of species around the reef and the one we were looking for, stag horn, was in very few numbers. However, we were able to find it, made our way to the marine biology 2 boat, Sea Dragon, and then began to dive down. The plan was for a few students to go with some instructors and set the epoxy in order to attach the coral. However, the epoxy ended up hardening faster than we expected and thus we were only able to set up a few pieces of coral. After that, we simply just swam around and jumped off the boat to see who could make the biggest cannonball. We made our way back to the marina and now we have a few hours to ourselves. So, what are we going to do? Are we going to walk around the beach, explore the hotel, or sit outside and enjoy the view?

Or just sit in and go on the wifi, that works too.
