Luke Gomez – BVI – Day 1

0

After a long day of traveling yesterday, I woke up at about 6:45, anxious to start the day and begin a great adventure. Everyone waited at the cattle guard outside of our homes for the ride to breakfast to begin our lesson over the marine life in BVI. We debated over current events regarding marine life as well as became more familiar with the species of which we were about to experience. After the lesson, we ate once again and then travelled to the harbor to board the Sea Monkey, our boat. There, everyone went through all of safety protocol information while putting together our diving gear. Then, after a short boat ride, we arrived at George Dog Island, a previous home to the now extinct Caribbean Seals. We then dove down about 35 feet to win along the reef. We saw Barrel Sponges, Parrotfish, Angelfish, and many more beautiful species including a Nurse Shark. We then returned to the harbor, cleaned what we had used on the dive, and retuned to the Guava Resort to shower and get ready for dinner. We had a delicious dinner and I am now ready to get a great night sleep and prepare for the next adventure tomorrow.
