1. I chose this class because I have an interest in the scientific field. Also I thought this class would be a fun new experience that would take me out of my comfort zone, specifically referring to scuba diving. This class also provides me with an opportunity to not only learn through a classroom setting, but also to be able to physically interact with the things I am learning about through the scuba diving portion in the British Virgin Islands.

2. The only diving experience I have is my certification which I received through International Scuba. In this class I went on a dive in a place in Huntsville Texas called blue lagoon, which was only 19 feet, yet on this dive I was forced to review all of the skills I had practiced in class as well as learning new things like the different hovers in the peak performance buoyancy.

3. The main thing I am looking forward to in this course is the new, different experience of interacting with the things I have learned in the classroom through scuba diving. Another thing I am looking forward to is confronting situations that will force me to get out of my comfort zone or something that will positively influence me as a Jesuit student. These influences include environment awareness and gaining a greater understanding of humanity’s effects on the environment and the environment around us in general.
